This option is used to read in a Genio file into the project.

The video below will show how to read in a Genio file into the project.

Continue down the page to see the Read Genio Panel options.

To open the Read Genio Panel, Use the TfNSW Survey Standards Toolbar:

Hold the first button down (the Survey Control Toolbar) and select the 2nd drop down command – Read Genio.

The Read Genio panel will be opened.

Files Tab

Click the <Yellow Folder> button to find the Genio file to read into the project.

The “Golden Highway.mos” file has been saved in the 12d Model project’s working folder, that is why it is available here. The yellow folder will always be pointed to the project’s working folder.
Note: The project’s working folder is the location to save any files that relate to the project, as they will be saved and remain with the project.

If the Genio file has been saved to another folder location, then you can use the “Browse” option to search on the computer to find it.

Either click on the file and hit the <Select> button or double click on the file to load it into the panel.

Basic Tab

The Basic Tab has standard settings set for if the data isn’t mapped into the project correctly.

If the Genio file contains any design data with a transition type, they will be created as a “Clothoid” spiral.

The Line and Point Colours will be applied to any data that is not mapped when read into the project.

Default Textstyles are set here for the text that is not mapped when read into the project.

Mapfile Tab

The mapfile tab is where the TfNSW Survey Detail.mapfile has been loaded so that the data in the Genio file will be mapped into the correct Models/Layers, with correct colours, linestyles and symbols.

A Prefix or Postfix can be added to the new models when the data is read into the project.

If the String Numbers are not required on the string names, select the tick box.

Advanced & Origin Tabs

The Advanced Tab have been set ready for your data to be read into the project.

The Origin Tab allows local origin coordinates to be set.
